RectorSeal® Corp., Houston,  a leading manufacturer of quality HVAC/R and plumbing products, has reformulated its Nokorode® Aqua Flux, a water-flushable, lead-free, paste flux that now out-performs most flux brands when soldering with the new silicon family of low-lead brass alloys used in potable water plumbing applications.

Third-party laboratory tests by leading plumbing valve and fitting manufacturer, NIBCO® Inc., Elkhart, Ind., demonstrated the reformulated Aqua Flux’s superior pre-cleaning ability that provides for comprehensive solder coverage while eliminating residual oxide barriers during the heating process. “NIBCO tested the newly-formulated Nokorode Aqua Flux and it works great; therefore we recommend it for use with our silicon family of lead-free alloy fittings, valves and flanges,” said Aaron Edds, NIBCO’s product manager for valves.

The new flux is certified under NSF Standard 61-Annex G and meets the requirements for the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act (S.3874), a federal law that goes into effect Jan. 4, 2014.  It also conforms to the ASTM B-813 Standard and California’s AB-1953 low lead law. Vermont and Maryland have already enacted low lead regulations similar to California.

Available in 2, 4 and 16-ounce sizes, the cream-colored Nokorode Aqua Flux, is non-corrosive because it’s water-flushable and easily flushed from piping systems. Unlike other gels or liquid fluxes, Aqua Flux won’t run or drip off acid brushes, pipes and fittings during application. It is formulated for use with 95/5, 60/40, 50/50 and 40/60 solders.

The newly-formulated flux is the newest member of RectorSeal’s Nokorode product line that includes Nokorode Regular Paste Flux, Nokorode Hot Weather Paste Flux, Nokorode Cold Weather Paste Flux and Nokorode 95/5 Pre-Tinning Flux. Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, RectorSeal also makes the C-Flux®, Amos Feer’s Famous Flux® and Fluxomatic Gel.

SAFE-T-SWITCH® A/C OVERFLOW SHUT-OFF SWITCH

THE RECTORSEAL CORPORATION INTRODUCES A NEW

SAFE-T-SWITCH® A/C OVERFLOW SHUT-OFF SWITCH

HOUSTON, TX – The Rectorseal Corporation, a Houston-based manufacturer of specialty chemical products and tools for the HVAC industry, has expanded its line of patented

Safe-T-Switch® electronic condensate overflow control switches with a new model, SS700E, designed to meet changes in A/C equipment being installed today. The new switch includes the  reliable, low power consuming, state-of-the-art microelectronics that has made Safe-T-Switch® the best condensate control switch on the market and is Code Compliant – Tested to UL-508.

As with all Safe-T-Switches®, the new models are designed for easy installation in new or retrofit situations to protect home and commercial building owners from costly damage due to condensate overflow. They also offer A/C specialists an easy way to insure customer satisfaction and reduce potential liability.

The new SS700E switch is designed to fit in the auxiliary drain pan; it does not need to be mounted to the pan and eliminates screws and clips. The SS700E’s logic circuit continuously samples the probes for water and will shutdown the system if water is detected. Onboard LED’s indicates the condition of the unit at a glance, removing any guess work and will automatically reset once the water subsides. The simple wire design makes for easy installation. The multiple position options on the brackets provides adjustable heights options. The rust proof stainless steel adds to the unmatched reliability of the switch. The new bracket is great for use with plastic overflow pans with round edges.

These new switches and all other Safe-T-Switch® models are now available through Rectorseal’s nationwide distribution network. For more information, contact RectorSeal Customer Service at
